Last week in part one of this two-part series, I shared tips about how to choose the right pair of shorts. Today I’m showing styling ideas to dress up your shorts!

Many women don’t consider wearing shorts because they don’t think they have the body or legs to wear them. They may also think shorts are not age appropriate.

It’s true that shorts can present a body and age challenge, especially shorter lengths. However, mid and longer lengths can expand the boundaries for shorts to be considered a viable option to counter both concerns.

The universally most flattering style is a clean hem and mid-length, usually a 9” inseam. If you’re trying to conceal cellulite, a slim leg, longer knee length would work better and feel more comfortable.

When dressing up your shorts, the defining look is to add jewelry, a dressy top and heels. When adding heels, always keep in mind shorts with a little ease works best. Avoid a fit that’s too close to the body or tight.

I’ve put together five different looks to dress up your shorts. All include jewelry and heels to give the look a modern, feminine and polished appeal…enjoy!
