My website has been in the process of getting a makeover. It’s in the final stages of completion, but one last detail had to be taken care of… new photos!

I booked a full-day photo shoot with the incredible photographer Starla Fortunato! I love the way she connects with her clients, their brand, and her special lighting technique to enhance beauty. I scheduled the shoot six weeks in advance to give me plenty of time to prepare.

As I prepared for the shoot, I followed the same process I give my clients as they prepare for theirs – I did a brand style analysis, then shopped my closet before going to stores.

As the shoot date got closer, nerves began setting in. Even after a few trips to some of my favorite stores, I was still worried about what I was going to wear! I realized I was battling visibility fears. I didn’t expect to feel so nervous after supporting so many for so long…but, like most experiences, there’s nothing like the spotlight being turned on you!

Once I continued to follow the brand style process and tried on many, many options, I finally found the right mix. Nervousness started to fade and was replaced with excitement, I was ready.

The photo shoot concept was to tell the story of my styling work. Here are some of the pics from the day…

First stop, hair and makeup. Once makeup artist Kurumi Uchino-Schulz finished transforming me into a model for the day, I was camera ready!

Kurumi was attentive to hair and makeup needs so I would look just right for each shot, Starla likes to keep Photoshop corrections to a minimum! Wow, I felt pampered:)

Then it was time to get in front of the camera for full-length shots!
